Respite ...
I took mum into the care home, to stay for a week while I do some music and have a bit of a break.
After I dropped her off I decided to visit a little dog that I took a shine to last time I visited the animal rescue centre - this is him, little Milo.
Initially I was told he wasn't really for a first time owner. He came in (with his 'brother') as a stray and apparently can be quite growly with people he doesn't like. I think I can say with some confidence that he quite likes me - I spent about half an hour practically in his crate with him and as you can see he seemed fairly relaxed about it!
But - he needs to like mum. I could take her in, but it's such a trek for her I'm reluctant to do it. And I'm sure two of the homes I stay in when I go away making music now and again would also welcome a little doggy visitor - but not if it's a growly dog.
Milo doesn't even fit my brief - I always fancied a scruffy looking rough coated dog and he's quite a smoothie.
Ah well .. we'll see what happens ..
I went for a quick look in a local reserve after my doggy visit. Lots of water birds to be seen, including this distant snipe.
