Tonight was a Cafe Scientifique Manchester night, and the talk was about parasitic or ‘vampire’ plants (think mistletoe, but there are many others, benign and harmful). Talk given at the Mad Lab in Manchester's Northern Quarter - an excuse, if needed, for some decent ale.
