Moody Lake Taupo

This morning dawned quite misty after rainfall during the night. The 3 peaks were only just visible.

The road outside our motel was in the process of being cordoned off for 'Ironkidz', a children's version of Ironman which is this being held here this coming week.

The annual Ironkidz event is a triathlon for kids from the age of 5 - 15 and there were 100s of kids entering it through their schools swimming, running and cycling.
The 5 - 7 year olds did a 'splash and dash', 50 metres swimming or running in knee deep water and then a run of 550 metres - no wonder NZ excels in sports on the world platform. Parents, teachers and onlookers cheered all on and the participants at times looked exhausted but happy and determined.
