Petrified forest

The snow and rime is so heavy up high on the fells, entire forests have been set solid in ice. We broke out of the frigid river valley onto the relative warmth higher up (temperature inversion) with a freezing fog layer just below the summits.

A long snowshoe trek today took us up one of the summits that are harder to get to - Pyhätunturi. The last extra shows the view from the top.
