Three of us walked along the side of Goat's Water opposite Dow Crag on our way up Coniston Old Man and then on to Wetherlam.  The weather was perfect, cold and blue skies, and the patches of snow were solid and avoidable.... and avoid them I did, since my boots made no impression and I didn't fancy slipping and sliding down over the edge!

Dow Crag interests me because the seventh outdoor climb that I did last summer was here, although I mainly remember the horrible scree... well, isn't all scree horrible?

Back to the hut, owned by Yorkshire Mountaineering Club, a shower and a walk down to the Yewdale pub to watch the rugby.  I decided to eat there, which was good but a bit over-priced, and by the time I'd walked back to the hut I was completely done in and it wasn't long before I was in bed.  My sleeping bag is soooo cosy.

Two extras.

10.2 miles
2hrs 52mins... which isn't right, but my phone was playing up.
