Laos - Luang Prabang

The bus ride between Vietnam and Laos is am rumored to be an uncomfortable and unreliable 24 hour journey. Luckily we enjoyed a 1 hour flight instead :-) and we arrived safely in Luang Prabang.

Today we got a tuk tuk out to these amazing waterfalls. The rocks are limestone which makes the water a beautiful turquoise colour. The large waterfall cascades down into all these smaller waterfalls and swimming holes. It was gorgeous. After a hike to the very top we cooled off in the refreshing pools. The little fish feast on your feet as soon as you step in. It's such a weird feeling.
Also in the park was a refuge center for bears. Poaching is a big problem in the forests here, there were almost 20 bears here which have been rescued. One had a stump for a leg an another only had 3 legs! They were happy and healthy though, we loved watching the play, swim and tumble with each other.
