The Leap .....

from winter into spring, we hope.

Today we visited Harlow Carr Royal Horticultural Gardens. It was dry and occasionally bright but very cold.

Lots of signs of spring which some say starts tomorrow, but on this February Leap day there was still lots of winter colour.

Crocus and snowdrops flowering well with Iris reticulate in shades of blue and purple and some daffodils and aconites flowering too, along with these lovely early heathers.

But I can never resist the winter colour of the dogwoods here so I have gone for this shot which combines winter and spring in terms of flowering. More winter colour in my extra.

Let's hope we leap into spring when March settles in.
