Only a short road trip today, which was broken by a visit to a small village just outside Urubamba. Here we visited a pottery which made me realise just how much I've missed my ceramics course this year. I made note of a new way of throwing & a different way of using colours slips & hopefully I can enrol again in September & get to try them out.

Two of the other villagers treated us to Chicha (a drink made from corn which was an 'acquired' taste), a game involving throwing coins into a frogs mouth & we were shown how they turn cacao beans into chocolate (much more palatable than the Chicha). Another two villagers cooked us lunch & we relaxed in the gardens of a local house. For me, this was the most enjoyable day of our trip & I'm really sorry that we didn't have more time to interact with the Peruvian people in this way.
