Quod oculus meus videt

Regimental Flags

An afternoon meeting at Lichfield allowed me the opportunity for a quick visit to the cathedral to view the restored stained glass windows of the Lady Chapel.  I had intended to photograph them, but realised too late that an ultra wide lens would be needed so that will have to be done on another day.

Instead you have an image from the South Transept where regimental flags are hung and other memorials of conflicts can be seen.  I have photographed these before, though I hadn't noticed the state of the flags hanging high near the stained windows.  They have certainly seen better days and appear almost gossamer thin, allowing the light from the window to be seen through them.
