Check Mate

I went into work a bit early so I could talk to reception staff about their class assembly on Friday. It was roast chicken for lunch and for the first time ever, I couldn't eat it all. This is a measure of my poorliness and a very sorry state of affairs.
I taught year 2 this afternoon which was ok. One of the children had to stay in at playtime due to an injury and I let him choose a friend to stay in with him. They had a quick game of chess but I'm not entirely sure they were exactly playing by the rules judging by the conversation I overheard. Luckily they didn't ask me to intervene as I haven't got a clue!
