Propeller Head Garden October 2009

Playing catch up as I couldn't blip yesterday - spent  a night in Poole where I saw this which from a distance looked like flowers but is actually propellers. The plaque explained that 'Designed and fabricated by Cod Steaks Ltd, this dynamic piece of public art commemorates the aviation and shipping industries which played a crucial role in Poole's industrial development. The use of hard, industrial materials is appropriately offset by the sculpture's organic form which merge together to embody a graceful ly uplifting piece with historical gravitas.' It would have been quicker to just blip the photo of the plaque as an extra - but it was shiny steel and the sun was on it making it difficult to photograph and to read  - but I have done so anyway!
