A happy little Roo

My mother in law took this picture the other day of the boy, looking as happy and cheeky as always.

We've been on the farm all day today, starting the day with a lovely walk accompanied by four of the dogs - my father in law went for an early morning flight, practising for his pilots license re-validation next week, so above us we could hear him doing all kinds of manoeuvres as he went through everything.

We had a visit from ZIMRA - the Zimbabwe tax authority, they wanted to check that we were actually a working farm - farms have zero tax on certain items and so there are a fair number of spurious farms around.  Having been 'requested' to be on duty for tea making, they stayed all of ten minutes, apparently quite satisfied that they had indeed visited a farm.

With the visit from ZIMRA, Dirk was despatched into town to run errands that my father in law was going to do - on the face of it, these appeared to be relatively straight forward.  Clearly, Zimbabwe was not factored into this thinking and he was back far later than we had imagined.  He was greeted with a naked baby upon his arrival home, who was playing in the garden before dinner, bath and bed, which couldn't come soon enough for one very tired little boy.
