Excitement at The Beeches
For the past 3 nights we have been putting out food for the hedgehog(s) because Dick spotted one in our garden. Tonight was our first sighting. This is a good sized hog, so stands a reasonable chance of surviving if the snows come next week.
The image is taken through double glazing with an ordinary standard lamp behind me and multiple reflections and shadows from Bowlby, Mum and me. It's a miracle I have an image at all!! It is also handheld!
In other news, Mum was in the wars last night. She had a nasty nosebleed. When this had just about settled, she managed to gash open her right leg, just above the ankle, while removing her sock. I had a bit of a tricky job to do, trying to steristrip it together.
She has been resting today.
So have I, because Aggie is playing up a lot.
So, it was nice to have our spirits lifted with the return of Lucky (maybe it is him/her).
PS I have been thinking about organising a Blipmeet in Tynedale for ages. Spurred on by BlipCentral, who have suggested blipmeets between 19th and 29th March, I'm proposing we meet on Saturday 26th March in Hexham at 2pm.
We'll meet outside the Hexham Abbey shop which is very central. There is a good bus and train service from both Carlisle and Newcastle. The main car park (free with a timer disc for £1) is by the Wentworth leisure centre with a short walk uphill into town.
Hope to see you there.
