An inkling
An early start for a surprise trip over to the other side today. We set off at 6am in the dark and the wet but the further we travelled west, the lighter and brighter it got. Bailey was quite keen on looking out of the back window at the snow up on the tops but it didn't impede our journey at all. We arrived in time for breakfast although I am not sure that it was entirely a surprise. What I do know is that Bailey's arrival was more popular than mine as he was greeted with "What are you doing here?" before I was greeted at all!
We headed down to the shore this afternoon to put the new lens through its paces and it did pretty well. We didn't time our trip all that well; it was low tide but not by much and it was still very wet underfoot and that was before the wind and the rain as we were on our way back to the car. We managed to get some shots across the Bay before the weather turned and also spotted a little egret and a heron (as evidenced in one of the extras.)
Bailey enjoyed himself with lots of new smells, a good walk and a bit of plodging. That and a 160 mile journey clearly tired him out enough for him to sleep through his tea and not require an evening walk. And he missed the sunset too.
