The Humble Bumble

A beautiful spell of sunshine this morning brought out this hungry bumble bee.........fortunately, the hellebore was able to supply the goods even though the blooms are way past their best.
Any bumble bees you see around this early in the year are likely to be queens, searching for food and prospective nest sites.......so it always a good idea to have some early flowering nectar plants for them. We haven't got very much out in the garden at the moment but I'm very pleased she found a bit of something to sustain her :-))
