Dedication - that's the name of the game

This is the route that Paul and Gisela are taking, on bikes, for 6 months. Not sure how far they are planning to cycle a day but simple maths says that if you cycled roughly the same distance every day, that would work out at 55km per day which isn't actually too bad as long as the terrain is pretty flat which of course it won't be. Still only 4 hours per day in the saddle. 2 hours before lunch, 2 hours after and plenty of time for sightseeing. Bring it on I say. Not that I could get Diana to do it or afford to take 6 months off work before I'm too old to contemplate cycling 10,000km!

Dinner with uncle H at the Chequers in Streatly tonight. Nice evening. Very good rib eye steak again and we saw some cyclists drop into the pub around 9 p.m. Bearing in mind that it was near to freezing outside, quite impressive/mad. I knew one of them and had a quick chat. They have done this pretty much every Friday night for the last 12 years! That's dedication for you, or maybe obsession or is there even a difference?
