Floods
Last night was a struggle to get the little ones to sleep whilst we all shared a hotel room. Girl managed to calm and sleep first after we said there would be a treat for the first one to fall into slumber. Boy was not as easy to convince though as he kept manically going until after 11pm. We stayed calm as we have decided whilst here normal sleep rules are out of the window as there are more important things going on.
So after a few breaks in the nights sleep we were up and heading for a hotel breakfast. The little ones enjoyed taking trips to the food area and Wife enjoyed the pancake machine. Eventually when I could not eat anymore than three courses we headed back to the room.
We then went to walk off our breakfast and meet Granny. We were looking for a park but due to all the rain the river had flooded so much that Rowentree Park was closed. So we wandered into York for lunch (which was a struggle after breakfast), before heading to see Grandpa.
At the hospice the sun was out so the little ones had lots of fun playing in the garden with the water feature while we all sat down together and did not a lot. Grandpa slept a lot but seemed to enjoy waking to see girl dressed as Snow White (Granny had found it for her).
Tonight bedtime seemed tougher, prompted by Boy sickness. It was harder to stay releaxed as Boy decided he would angrily play instead of calming to sleep. Girl was brilliant though and after only a little bit of telling her brother to be quiet, went of to sleep.
By was also sick on the way down in the car yesterday. It is a slight worry as he rarely sick. However it is probably due to the old Dorito we found him eating in the worst kids play area I have ever seen. In the Moto kids fenced off area was an old chair and a telly box that didnt work, oh and an old Dorito, but thats gone now. That said the little ones had lots of fun on the chair.
