International Women's Day

Today is International Women's Day, a day "to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women." I'd add the words spiritual & educational to the list. For me, it's a day to give thanks for the remarkable women in my life, for those who lead the way, live the way, live by example and reveal goodness, grace & generosity. To give thanks for those who will not settle for the status quo, for those who are not willing to let things be because they have always been. And to remember that our world is deeply unfair, for those who have power often hold on to it at the cost of fairness and equality for all. So today we celebrate and give thanks. I'm so thankful for the fabulous women in my family.
