GLASS HOUSE MOUNTAINS FROM MALENY
Yesterday we went for a drive into the countryside, about 100km from the City. Maleny is on the Blackall range - not very high by standards of other countries - at around 1500ft, and cooler than at sea level. Rich red soil, lots of mists, very green and beautiful vistas like this one of the Glass House Mountains. These were named by Captain Cook in 1770 when he glimpsed them as his ship sailed past. He thought they looked like the glass furnaces in his native Yorkshire. It was very hazy yesterday, a day of sunshine and showers, but with magnificent clouds.
I couldn't resist this shot of the young bulls marching along the skyline. Nice place to be a cow!
