Camping Out
For the last few months there has been a very small "independence" camp on the grass at the edge of the Parliamentary estate beside the road through Holyrood Park. I can just see it from the window opposite my office in the MSPs block which is the view that I have blipped.
The campers think they have a right to stay there until independence is achieved ( as a political act) calling in aid the "democracy" caravan that stood at the bottom of Calton Hill opposite St Andrews House until the 1997 Referendum.
The Parliamentary authorities , in response , draw attention to the impracticality and intrusion of the arrangement and want the campers gone.
So far it is stalemate but the courts are now going to adjudicate. When we come back from the election it could all be over...or not...
