Traffic on the A3

Up until July 2011, I would have been standing in the middle of the busy A3 trunk road from London to Portsmouth in order to take this photo.  The road had been routed around the Devil's Punch Bowl in the 1830's, replacing a steeper turnpike road. 

In 2011 road was re-routed again, this time through The Hindhead Tunnel, and the road has been grubbed up to allow the area to return to nature, and today apart from this tractor, the only other traffic you are likely to see would be horses, mountain bikes and pushchairs.
