Winchester Cathedral Crypt
After a quick trip to Mottisfont Abbey to donate some books to the bookshop, I headed into Winchester and a paid a visit to the Cathedral.
The crypt is renown for flooding at various times of the year due to the high water table of the land the cathedral is built on. When the sculptor, Antony Gormley, saw it he was inspired to donate a sculpture to the cathedral, Sound II. The sculpture, which is cast from his own body, appears to be contemplating the reflections, and he gave instructions that when the crypt is dry the bowl should be filled with water to continue to mood.
I also played with the fish-eye lens again and got some of the "classic" shots taken in churches using this type of lens. There is one in extras, and other shots around the cathedral here.
