Corncob Pipe

I had every intention of going out to score another Blue Mountains Icon today. The spirit was willing but the flesh was weak. The wind really came up, the clouds looked unpleasant and it was just plain cold.

My eyes happened to fall upon the top shelf of my bookcase and there stands one of the tributes to my resounding foolishness ... a collection of tobacco pipes. Curiously this old corncob pipe is about 30 years old and has never been smoked. I added it to my collection not long before I became a reformed character.

Nonetheless I have always thought it had character and may also have been used as a stage prop once, as I recall. Anyway I thought it might pass muster as an emergency blip for today.
