Blue Mountains Icons 6
As you head west along the Great Western Highway out of Katoomba, just before you reach Blackheath, you come to an exit on your right called Evans Lookout Road. This will take you through MY part of town and eventually to a place called Evans Lookout within the National Park.
Where we are standing right now is really one of the subsidiary vantage points alongside Evans Lookout proper. It is actually called Valley View Lookout which overlooks the Grose Valley. If you look carefully you can see a narrow ribbon of reflected light winding its way down the valley. That is the Grose River.
I was determined to score another Blue Mountains Icon today because (unlike yesterday) the weather was so nice. I popped down to here right after my exercise walk, but even at this time of year, I was probably about 45 minutes too late to get the most favourable light. Still, I think this pic gives you an accurate idea of the location.
Incidentally for those of you who'd like to see more Blue Mountains pictures, I have stock image collections at various places on the web. Here is one of them. Just click on a picture to take a closer look.
