Peeping
Peeping out shyly,
Lost in an imagined world,
Connecting briefly.
Final day of Bilbao trip. The rain still rained, but we were kind of used to it by now!
As an escape from the rain we spent the afternoon at the amazing Azkuna Zentroa. It's very hard to describe this place. A huge covered space which use to be a wine warehouse and now houses a building within a building designed by Philip Starck. The building is supported on a number of fat pillars or the type you get in huge cathedrals. Each pillar has a unique design on it.
The space is quite dark, with imaginative lighting creating pools of light. Perfect imaginary worlds for children.
Below ground level is a cinema, above a leisure centre and swimming pool with glass bottom. So when below, you can look up and see ghostly figure swimming.
A very special place, which luckily also had a pinxtos bar, so of course we had to have some of these tasty treats accompanied by a glass or two before heading for the airport.
