Horsies

In the Oostvaardersplassen, one of the biggest reserves in the Netherlands. A large area that is accessible for a very small part only. In this area live large herds of Konik horses, Heck cattle, Red deer amongst foxes and many, many birds. Even the Sea eagle has made this area his home.

I did a stroll in the accessible part with my sister and niece. The area is very popular, we encountered many people. Families with prams doing a stroll, birdwatchers, photographers, walkers. Not much chance of seeing any wildlife with that amount of people around... We did however see a fox, white egrets, a few deer and we were lucky enough to see this small group of Konik horses!
