Lambchop
Mr DawnAgain and I had went out to enjoy the sunshine today. We started with lunch at Pulborough Brooks nature reserve which we ate outside. We then headed down the road to Brinsbury College, having passed a sign saying it was Lambing Live day there. It was great fun: we went on quite a long tractor ride to get to the lambing sheds and there were loads of new-born lambs as well a bunch of very energetic piglets. Following the tractor ride back through the gorgeous countryside in which Brinsbury is set, we went back to Pulborough Brooks and had a lovely walk round the reserve, stopping off at the various hides. We saw lapwings, highland cows, squirrels, doves and herons, and on the home strait a man (who I discovered afterwards is the RSPB's regional director for south-east England) tipped us off that there was an adder basking on some bracken round the corner. The adder was still there when we got to the spot and was obviously still warming up as it didn't even attempt to get away. If you like snakes you can see it here
And many congrats to Geordie Girl - the most deserved winner of Cruft's since Basil's great-grandad in 1990 :)
