Those of you of a certain age will have no difficultyin remembering the cult comic novel about university life in the 1960s.

Why am I quoting it today? Well at the Alpine Garden Show last Saturday I won these "mums" as a raffle prize.

As I had spent an hour selling raffle tickets earlier in the day some might have thought I should be disqualified from winning a prize. But as the supermarket price on the plant pot was quite a bit less than I had paid out for tickets my conscience was clear.
