Should have been a Skylark

As I took the photo of this Red Grouse and dropped the camera down from eye level I realised that a Skylark was standing in profile giving me its best side crest up just a couple of feet away. It would have been a lovely photo if this character had not distracted me.

Lovely to hear the Skylarks singing - at least 5 individuals around the top if Cown Edge - hopefully many more. Curlews calling as well and some Lapwings doing their spectacular flying displays upside down at times
