One Man Went to Mow...

One consequence of the rain has been that the front lawn has assumed the qualities of a water meadow. A few dry days meant I could have a go at it today, but it seemed a bit of a shame to decapitate the clover.

Ps - @ceridwen's identification of the purple flowers as Self-heal led to me discover this entertaining exchange of views on the merits, or not, of having wildflowers like this within a lawn. It's healthy to be reminded that lawns are more a social than an ecological construct. I'm happy to let the flowers live there.
