Bradgate Park
We met our friends John and Jennie and went out for lunch and to visit Bradgate Park. The house there, in ruins, is the birthplace of Lady Jane Grey successor to Edward VI for nine days in 1553 before being imprisoned, and eventually executed, by Mary I who took the throne. On execution of Jane Grey all the oaks in the park had their tops taken off, something that is still visible today, see extra.
