When the fruit is at just the right stage of ripeness and sweetness,
then eating it in the sunshine, in good company...aaah.

Obsession with the the birds in the back continues....
Thought the little birds had been driven away by the recent hammerings.

Happily some Chaffinches and baby Bluetits appeared on the feeders today.
Lovely to see but had no camera to hand!

One little perspex feeder - attaches to the window by suction pads - had twice previously taken a tumble...and miraculously arrived on the ground far below, intact.

imagine the surprise of the tourists - who constantly invade wander through the close - being showered with dried mealworms and other bugs, without so much as a Gardeeloo!

To prevent a recurrence, made a hole through the perspex with a hot nail, then secured it with wire.
Later, heard a crashing noise and saw a huge Magpie hurtling off from the feeder.
They're far too big to perch on it, which is how it came crashing down before.
The wire worked and it's still in place..so far.

When the Magpie swooped in again a short time later, it was seen off by a big gull before reaching the tray.

Gulls appear to have taken up sentry duty on the side roof.
They can't access the feeders but chase off anything that can.
Hope the little birds can manoeuvre through it all.

Visitors arrived so the bird land dramas went unobserved after that.
To be continued, no doubt...

Hope yours was a good weekend.
