American Crow

Generally speaking crows only stop at the café here for birdseed when the weather is fairly dire. They come in a large group (murder) and are very skittish when I try to photograph them. But I have noticed lately that there's been one lone crow coming and sitting near the feeders shouting for quite a while and then eventually grabbing a bite off the ground and leaving. This morning I was startled to see him actually on the rock right in front of the porch steps where I spread sunflower seed hearts. Most unusual! And bold! I managed to get the one shot before the dogs noticed me with my camera and shot out the pet door to chase away whatever it was that I was trying to photograph. As they do.
