Paradise: the Bird and the Place

Another fine morning on the beach, right in the middle of the Santa Cruz Paddlefest, an elite competition of kayaks, stand-up boards and waveskis. Calm down, they are not all in the water at the same time; there are separate heats for each medium. We saw the paddleboards. I didn't realize how big this event was until I got home and looked it up. I guess I'll have to go back tomorrow and check it out. Apparently it's a really big deal. I don't even know what a waveski is, but I bet I find out.
