Day at the races

The first of the year's Lakeland Trails races started and finished on Cartmel racecourse.
It was cool and grey early but after about 3 miles (of 11& a bit) the sun came out, making me very glad I'd put on a removable jacket.
The course was harder than I'd expected, though having a cold probably didn't help, but there was some very nice running and spectacular views. Mr Rat won the 60+ and an entry for next year!
This is the view from the grandstand as the clearing up was done.
Back to the pub for beer and food after a soak in the bath (and a longer drive back to the B&B due to another diversion).
