Scotrail
Today's the day ............................. to re-connect
I know you're thinking this is just a boring old picture of a Scotrail train in rather non-descript scenery?
Well it's actually a lot more exciting than that because it's my first sighting of - yes admittedly a Scotrail train - but it's actually going through the most wonderful scenery on a track that has had to be completely re-built. It is, of course, the new Scottish borders line from Edinburgh to Tweedbank. It means that, for the first time since 1969, travellers have the chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery of this part of the country from the easy comfort of a railway carriage.
For the reasonable charge of just £11.20 you can travel from Tweedbank to Edinburgh in less than an hour with an Off-Peak Day Return ticket - and then all the way back. Trains are approximately every half hour during the day, Monday to Saturday ............................
