Beasts of the long grass

Had his collar held while a quad biking farmer checking his sheep disturbed a deer that ran and ran and ran, across two fields, over into the rough gorse land, right in front of our noses and off over the hill. Whispering the word gentle over and over in Max's ear, making him stay and watch, rather than bolt and chase.

Golden evening light, wildlife encounters and canine company fairly lifts the mood.
