Derelict Sunday
N. Knott Street at N. Interstate, the edge of the Eliot neighborhood.
Not many derelict places left in this neighborhood, most have been reborn into something else. I expect this will be renovated and reimagined at some point soon like many of these old warehouses. N. Interstate must have looked and felt quite different before the advent of freeways. The 405 flies over this neighborhood as it comes off the Fremont Bridge on the east side of the Willamette, just before it connects to the I-5 taking traffic north to Washington and south through Oregon and on to California. Extras to give context with the Fremont bridge and freeway overpass, and the Yellow Line Max that runs along N. Interstate between Portland State University and the Portland Expo Center.
I liked the graffiti on the bottom of the advertising panel which says: The Sign Under This Looks Better. Yep, I'd have to agree, from what little I can see of the old painted sign it probably does and maybe one day we'll get to see it again.
Back to spring showers, no squalls, thankfully.
