Feeding wild deer

Helping out a friend by feeding his wild red deer while he is away. They all look quite scruffy this time of year but this fellow was looking proud and handsome. Its strange having them come up to the pick up for feed, they did keep a cautious distance though. If you interested there is a program on bbc iplayer about 3 girls learning to stalk deer etc on a nearby estate just across the water from Mull. I also keep forgetting to mention This farming life which has several programs on it. Bare in mind that these folk are doing the same as us but on a much bigger scale and something that we hope to work towards in our future. We all have to start somewhere though!

The rest of the day was spent giving the farmhouse a prelambing/calving overhaul, including declutter major dust, hoover, mop, wash oh and some baking too!! Wont last long but it is easier to start with it a little tidier!

Tom the cockerel had become separated from his girls this afternoon and seemed a little confused about how to get back so I ended up rounding him up with all 9 dogs on the way back from the afternoon dog walk. Hes back with the girls and happy now.
