Hershey
I went for an early walk, well a bit of a stroll. Mainly to test out my knee, and I'm pleased to say all good. It was painful afterwards but nothing too serious. This photograph was taken by the light of the rising sun ... at this time of year it gives everything a gorgeous golden hue.
The beginning of autumn and the leaves have started to turn. I love how leaves start to look like flowers at what is essentially the end of their lives, and then float down to the ground to make room for new life. I sometimes feel like that, in the autumn of my life where life is more beautiful to me than ever before, I have a higher and wider view and like to think that when my day comes to float off I shall be able to do this without regret.
Hershey my funny boy who has brought me so much joy will be 10 this year and is so much calmer than when we got him, except for some of his anxieties which seem to have worsened with age. I'm so glad that I've been able to work with and so lessen many of mine.
