There and back again

The Lamberts Castle nursery class

Back up the road to East Devon to help out with family duties. Having arrived in time for lunch we had the afternoon walk to do so it was up to Lamberts Castle.
A dull wet afternoon did not present too many blips until we met up with the Lamberts Castle herd all grouped together. The bull now seems to have gone missing so I guess his work is done. All the calves were together and obviously feeling frisky, under the supervision of one of the females who was keeping them in check while the other cows grazed away contentedly. I've observed this many time with one cow obviously keeping an eye on the little ones. I just wonder who works out the duty rota for calf minding?
