Bird watching
We had a lovely morning walk today, there's an autumnal feel at the moment, which is so nice, the breeze is far cooler and life is far more pleasant as a result.
Howard the tractor driver has been ploughing the fire-breaks around the paddocks, which makes for heavy walking, but is darn good for the legs. Everywhere is looking very green thanks to the recent rains and a terribly English look to much of the farm (when not on a sand track).
My husband, is on a birdwatching mission. Sadly a sport not shared by his wife. There is a spread sheet listing all the birds seen on the farm (now standing at 89 different birds) and genuine excitement at the prospect of a new bird - especially now that the spreadsheet is nearing 100. Walks are often interrupted to look endlessly into trees, which sometimes is appreciated as I get a break from walking for a few minutes.
