Not a very pale Quail?

Though, possibly, a rather indignant one.
In fact a Japanese Quail.
It was time for the annual trip to Hexham. As is customary we shot past to eat at the farm-shop first.
They were in the process of assembling a small sort of farmlet, kids for the use of. On the way in there was an array of empty enclosures. On the way out they were full of Bunnies, guinea pigs and similar wee beasties. I had a chat with the lad installing them and he informed me this was a Japanese Quail. I'm guessing he wasn't extraordinarily keen on holing it too loosely - just in case.
We were forced onto the "low road" for the return journey on account of the peasouper we were approaching as we entered home territory.
