It was not the dullest of days nor was it the wettest of days, it was however a close run thing.

For the upper school at Emma's Primary, today was the very last opportunity they had to run their sports day. Even if it wasn't raining at the time they should have been running, jumping, hopping or whatever, they would have needed gumboots on to do any of it. So for the first time in living memory, the sports day has been cancelled and the trophies will go un-awarded this year. Presumably they will engrave something like rain stopped play on the cups and shields?

Caught this bunch of gulls on a rooftop at lunchtime, all headed into the prevailing wind, but nice and quiet. Expect they're resting their voices until night time:)
