Of course it was raining when we touched down in Paris. However, being true Brits, we didn't allow the ambient pitter patter to stop us on our first night.

After eating in Les Deux Moulins (where part of 'Amelie' was filmed) in Montmartre we headed up to the Sacre Coeur to view the city and what a sight it was. A few other hardy tourists had braved the weather and it was spectacular.

For our determination and true grit we were rewarded with a late night service in the church which proved to be hauntingly beautiful.
