Bank Holiday

Katie woke up pretty early again. She was excited about helping with the decorating of our lounge. I sent her away to get her breakfast at 6am. I sent her back away to play at 6.20. I sent her to go get dressed, brush her teeth at 6.45. I sent her to make me cup of tea at 7.00 am. At 7.15 am I gave up all hope of some extra snoozing and got up. It took us a while to pack up the lounge and get ready for painting. I had just poured the paint into the tray when a friend called to say did we want to go to softplay today! Thankfully, we decided to go at lunchtime so we cracked on with the painting. She had a lot of fun and was very enthusiastic, if not very messy and not entirely accurate in her painting! It required quite a bit of "Mummy following round".... definitely is not quicker to paint with a 6 year old in tow, but it is good fun . And she was very proud. Also, very painty.

She had a bath as I finished up with the wall I had been working on before she did a really good clarinet practise. She's working on her first piece by Bach and is doing a lovely job with it.

We had a nice few hours with Vic, Jaden and her niece. We went to Hornsea freeport, mainly for the soft play but popped into a couple of shops too. Katie had a great time playing - her and S were playing well together, and she found a school friend of hers, then they brought in a few random children who were around.

We've done a bit of piano practise ready for tomorrow's mock exam - she's quite excited now. Then tonight we are being taken out for tea with my sister and family, which will be very lovely. Though Katie has big rings under her eyes and has admitted she could quite happily curl up and go to sleep!
