Quiltscapes
We've had a lovely couple of days with daughter and son in law. They are such good company. This morning we set off together and stopped for breakfast at the wonderful Cross Lanes Cafe on the A66. A great breakfast and then we left in different directions - they headed south back to London and we returned in the Barnard Castle direction and made a long-awaited, often postponed, visit to The Bowes Museum.
I wanted to see an exhibition of the work of a quilter I have much admired over the years - Pauline Burbidge. An excellent exhibition, although I was a little disappointed with its having been pushed into a room already full of glass cases of costumes. I think it deserved a better space than that. However, her Quiltscapes are a joy to see and I really enjoyed a video showing the artist at work - drawing, stitching, machining. Inspirational.
