Act Normal Everyone

Risking my life on the dryness of a cow pat. That was me tonight, standing on a dry stane dyke in the early evening, debating to myself whether the cow pats were old or new, and whether I should take the risk and head right on up over the last field to the trig point, with the prospect of a stampede of cows or a lonely bull round every gorse bush. I just went for it, cow pats be damned, Max was delighted, rewarded by a bonus bog to get stinky in, while I was rewarded by 360 views from mountain to sea.

Back home and the home check lady was already there, with poor Tess chaperoning till I got back, she's had a tough day. The home check lady was thorough, I'm a wee bit nervous we might not get the all clear....we need to secure the side gate for one thing....so hoping we do get the all clear....we really all do want to make a home for a very special rescue dog. But we were a bit chaotic tonight, all plans to instruct the family to "remember and act normal" went out the window. So we just have to wait for a verdict now.

And finally, a wee visit from Josh and Alice and their fluff ball Maya, the tiniest puppy in the world, so she could socialise with Max, the biggest puppy in the world. Enjoyable chaos for the next two hours with Grandma and Granda bringing the very important chocolate biscuits to the party.

After a day watching me work at home speaking my emails and reports out loud as I type (my equivalent of the tongue of concentration when I'm on my own working), a very long walk and a stream of evening visitors and doggy encounters, Max is shattered.
