A pleasure
So thats it. The count down is over. No more weeks, no more days, no more hours, no longer do I have a post of business support.
Due to circumstances beyond my control and the uncertainty of my future I have taken voluntary redundancy. It's not something I had thought about or intended but it is funny how things turn out and decisions have to be made.
I've held my post for 16 years. It's a post which has grown as our service progressed and as modern day changes occured and more and more paperwork is required. I was pleased to carry out my duties in the office which allowed my colleagues to do their work 'on the floor'. I have been privaleged to work with some lovely people, children and families, other professionals and I will miss everyone.
It's not been a bad day but I'm now sat at home quite sad as tomorrow I don't have to get up and go to work. We had cakes and i got flowers off two wonderful teams. I cleared my desk and said my goodbyes.
Tonight I've been to the greek resteraunt with my family. It was very nice and we're all full.
I'm sat here having just watched pretty woman. Feeling a little emotional. I think I should go to bed. Tomorrow is another day and the start of a new life. I am lucky, I still have a part time post working night shifts so I will still be part of an outstanding team still working with some lovely people.
I will miss the laughs, the conversations, the morning coffees and most of all the young people and their families.
I also have thoughts of my friend who is also taking VR today. I wish her luck znd will be in touch very soon.
Thankyou everyone I have worked with, met, spoke on the phone. Mostly its been a pleasure.
