Ebor

W had an engagement in York today and tomorrow which was cancelled, but not until after we had already booked our non-refundable hotel and train tickets, so as York is always a lovely place to visit we came up anyway. We had lunch in a chocolate shop cafe near the Minster which came well recommended by Blipper Riversider; an excellent recommendation. It's surprising how well chocolate goes with Yorkshire Rarebit and Grilled Goats Cheese salad! Then spent the afternoon in the Castle Museum; it is many years since I was in there and with new displays relating to the First World War as well as the older displays it was a really enjoyable experience.

We probably won't stray far from the hotel this evening; there is an Italian restaurant not far away that looks nice so will probably try that.
